I find the idea of a poem as a ladder very interesting. When I first think of a ladder, I think of a very rigid object; something that will take you from point A to point B (usually point B being at some greater height) in a straight line. But your idea of a ladder differs greatly. It seems like you use it more as a means for transportation from thing to thing. But you do not necessarily need to go from thing to thing in a straight line. (These things could be ideas, sentences, words, etc.) I like this idea because it allows for more opportunities to use the ladder. It becomes more applicable to almost anything.
